WhatsApp now allows you to delete a message even after 2 days

WhatsApp, an instant messaging service, has been adding and developing new features in order to improve the platform and compete with competitors such as Telegram, Signal, and others.

Today, the company officially rolled out a new update that will give users a little more than two days to delete a message after sending it. WhatsApp began testing this feature in July with beta version 2.22.15.8, and it is now rolling out to a wider audience.

The previous limits for deleting a WhatsApp message after sending were 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds, but they have now been increased to 2 days and 12 hours, giving you more time to delete a message if you believe it is inappropriate.

Regarding this, WhatsApp in its Tweet, said:

Rethinking your message? Now you’ll have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send.

Please keep in mind that in order for this to work, all recipients must be updated to the most recent version of WhatsApp—and you will not receive a notification if the message was not deleted.
