Meta introduces new ways to customize your Facebook feed

Facebook, which is owned by Meta, today announced new options to tailor what you see in your Facebook Feed, so you can find the content that is most pertinent to you. You may now choose whether to show more or less posts from the individuals and communities you’re linked to, as well as posts that Facebook suggests to you. Recently, Meta introduced Community Chats on Facebook Messenger.

Show more or Show less on posts

The rating score for that post and similar posts will briefly increase when “Show more” is chosen. Selecting Show Less will momentarily lower its ranking score. Our artificial intelligence technologies become smarter and more responsive by providing more methods for incorporating direct feedback into feed ranking.

It also states that this will be displayed occasionally in feed posts. Soon, you’ll be able to select whether to display more or fewer postings by tapping the three dots in the top right corner of the post. The business also states that it has begun testing this function in Reels.

Customizing Feed Content

In addition, Facebook is continuing to explore new ways to assist users in customising the amount of content they see in their News Feed from the friends and family, Groups, Pages, and prominent figures to whom they are connected. Users can find all of these capabilities within the Feed Preferences section, in addition to Favorites, Snooze, and Reconnect.

The business goes on to say that features similar to these can assist you in finding more of the stuff that is valuable to you. As a result, users will be able to view more of what they want to see and less of what they do not want to see. Also, it will use direct feedback, just like they do every time we change something about a product, to keep getting better at what we do.

Introducing the new features, Facebook said:

At its core, Facebook helps you express yourself and connect with people and communities. Increasingly, people are connecting over public and relatable content, like new recipes or local hikes. Along with updates from your friends, Groups and Pages, Facebook recommends posts from creators and communities you may not know about for you to enjoy and discuss. What you see in your Feed is uniquely personalized to your interests through machine learning.
