Samsung is gearing up to unveil its next-generation Galaxy S25 series smartphones next month, with leaks and rumors already circulating. One notable leak suggests the Galaxy S25 Ultra will include a car crash detection sensor, a feature previously observed in devices like the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
According to Android Authority, leaked files confirm the presence of this sensor in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, the car crash detection feature has not been activated in any region. The report highlights that while the sensor’s code exists, no evidence suggests the feature is live or accessible in current Samsung devices’ settings.
The sensor, described as a “composite” sensor, combines data from multiple physical sensors to detect potential car crashes. Samsung has integrated this capability into devices such as the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 via hidden system apps like “MoccaMobile,” found in earlier One UI versions, including 5.1.1. Despite this, there is no user interface or active functionality for car crash detection.
Although the feature is not currently available in One UI 7, the inclusion of the virtual sensor in the Galaxy S25 series indicates that it could be activated in future updates. It remains uncertain whether Samsung will release the feature with the S25 series or in a subsequent update.
However, the presence of the sensor in the code suggests that car crash detection may become functional once officially launched.
